Getting to Socorro

Staff Are Expected to Make Their Own Flight Arrangements between their local sites and the Albuquerque Airport, following the policy outlined in the NRAO Travel Manual.

Due to budgetary constraints, NRAO will make a best effort in coordinating transportation to/from the airport for those who request a rental car or shuttle. This will be done after reviewing flight information Visitor Registration). You may be asked to share your rental car with others to/from the Albuquerque Airport.

If airline information is not available at the time you submit your visitor registration and you would like for NRAO to coordinate your transportation from Albuquerque to Socorro, not a problem; once you have firmed up your travel dates, just send email (airline information - arrival and departure dates, times, and airline) to Terry Romero.

Transportation Within Socorro

During the days of the meeting, NRAO will, if necessary, provide shuttle transportation between the motel and the AOC. Further details to follow.

Note: it is about a 15-20 minute walk from the local hotel ? if the weather is agreeable, a morning walk might be nice!

Accommodations

The NRAO Guest House has a limited number of rooms and a block of rooms has been reserved at a local motel. When you submit the Visitor Registration, please indicate your preference for lodging at either the NRAO Guest House or the motel.

Motel confirmations or NRAO Guest House information will be communicated to you once the Visitor Registration is received and processed.

Meals

Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon refreshments will be provided on the days of the meeting. We ask that you please state any dietary restrictions in the note field when filling out the Visitor Registration form or, if you prefer, send the information via email to Terry Romero.

Electronic Services

Access to e-mail and the WWW will be available at the AOC. Wireless service is available.

Please go HERE to register for the meeting and request lodging in Socorro and/or Albuquerque and transportation from the Albuquerque Airport.
