  • Instructions For Submitting Proposals

    1. Submission deadlines: February 1, June 1, October 1

    2. A proposal must be received by close of business (5:00 p.m. = 1700 hours Eastern Standard or Daylight Time) on the date of the deadline. If the deadline falls on a holiday or weekend, it is extended to the next working day. Submissions by fax ARE NOT accepted.

    3. To submit VLBA/HSA proposals, use the Proposal Submission Tool .

    4. To submit Global 3mm VLBI or VLBA+Effleseberg(only) proposals by E-mail

      • Use the LATEX File listed above under cover sheet files, filling in the blanks as instructed in the comment lines. The PostScript logos for NRAO and EVN are no longer necessary.

      • Run LATEX on this file and create a single Postscript file incorporating the cover page, your scientific justification, and any figures, if necessary, in PostScript format. Standard PostScript black and white figures can be included. If sending the proposal to NRAO, make sure that you specify letter size paper (e.g., dvips -t letter -o proposal.ps proposal.dvi ), otherwise your proposal will not print correctly since the default page size in most dvips versions is A4.

      • VLBA+Effelsberg(only), Global 3mm VLBI, or requests for Bonn correlator: E-mail this single PostScript file to: <propsoc@nrao.edu> and to <propvlbi@mpifr-bonn.mpg.de>.

        1. The files must be in pure postscript form. Do not zip (win, gnu or other) or compress them, and do not use "mime" to mail them;
        2. Files larger than 5 Megabytes will be bounced back to the user with instructions on how to submit the proposal via anonymous ftp.

      • Submit only one emailed copy of each proposal to above addresses.

    5. For EVN or Global VLBI, follow the Northstar instructions for on-line submission.
