Directions to University of Arizona

Located on the campus of the University of Arizona, the NRAO Tucson office is located within the building which houses the Department of Astronomy and Steward Observatory.

From the Tucson International Airport: By car you exit the airport northbound on Tucson Blvd., and will be taking a left at the first traffic signal which is Valencia Road. Driving west on Valencia Road to Campbell Avenue and turn right on Campbell. Continue driving north on Campbell Avenue and follow this road through a midway name change to Kino Parkway. At the intersection of Campbell Avenue and 6th Street you will see the UA on your left. The NRAO offices are located at 949 North Cherry Avenue on campus.

From north or south bound Interstate 10, take Exit I-10 at exit 257 - The University of Arizona/Speedway Blvd. exit. This will put you on Speedway Blvd. Head east on Speedway Blvd. which will be a right for northbound travelers and a left for southbound travelers. Continue eastbound on Speedway Blvd. to the intersection of of Park Avenue. The University of Arizona will be on both the north and south sides of Speedway Blvd. The NRAO offices are located at 949 North Cherry Avenue on campus.

Sun Tran: There are several alternative modes of transportation available for your use to get to the UA., Tucson's public bus service, has several routes servicing the immediate University area including a stop right on the campus at the UA Mall next to the Visitor Center. The Tucson metropolitan area is serviced by several shuttle and taxi companies. Many provide scheduled pickup-to-destination service as well as walk-up service at the Tucson International Airport, lower level.

For visitors traveling from the Phoenix area there is also shuttle service originating at the Phoenix airport to several destinations in Tucson including a stop right across the street from Arizona Stadium. The air-conditioned vans operate on a schedule leaving from both cities enroute to the other every hour on the hour. The 120-mile trip takes about 2 hours.
