Datil

A large well made the town of Datil a major way station along the "Stock Driveway," the historic New Mexico cattle drive route of the 18 and 1900s. Its old general store, founded in 1906, is still open for vittles shopping. Look up inside the adjacent restaurant to see huge, original Ponderosa Pine rafters spanning the ceiling of this century-old meeting place.
