What's happening in HR?
PEP Update: The September 15th scheduled start of the Performance Evaluation Process (PEP) passed without you receiving my annual reminder. The start of the PEP process is being delayed, and it was not until today that I am able to provide you with meaningful information about the status of the kick off.
HR, MIS and IT are in the process of implementing an electronic PEP process using a third party system by Halogen Software (eAppraisal). Five members of the HR staff, including Tracy Samples (GB), Allen Lewis (NM), and Shirley Franks, Tavia Dillon and LaTonya Richardson (CV) attended two days training this week in order to administer the system for NRAO. Along with this training, we are in the middle of the 12 week project implementation and we are now able to advise staff that the estimated start of the PEP process (employee self-evaluation) will begin around the FIRST WEEK IN NOVEMBER. Employee and manager training will be incorporated into the rollout schedule and communicated to staff as soon as it is established. To ease staff into the electronic system, the existing "familiar" PEP forms are being created in the system.
Since employees and managers will not be routing paper or electronic documents, this delay will not impact the planned salary review effective dates set for late December.
One new feature is being added to the electronic process is called "e360 Multirater" to facilitate an upward and peer review of supervisors and managers.
We will provide you with periodic project implementation updates between now and the start of the PEP process.
