NRAO Diversity Initiative for Co-ops and Internships

As a world leader in the field of radio astronomy the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) recognizes that from diverse ideas come new horizons in science and life. To enhance the opportunities for minority and female students in the fields of Computing, software design and engineering the Observatory has created the diversity Cooperative Education and Internship funding initiative.

Applications are accepted for any available co-op position based on the ability to meet the curriculum, GPA, grade level and co-op cycle requirements. Self-identification as a minority or female student is required to be considered as a diversity initiative candidate.

Internships may be available to diversity initiative candidates if funding exists. This unique program allows for an undergraduate senior or recent graduate, within one year of graduation, to propose a field of research in engineering and computer science.
