| Finally, after 19 hours the first energy burst reaches the receding lobe and it becomes visible. But remember, this flare in the receding lobe and the previous flare in the advancing lobe occur at the same time and have the same brightness! They only appear different because of their large speed toward us or away from us. The real time for the first flare to travel from the radio core to both lobes was five hours. Meanwhile, the energy burst from the second flare has almost reached the approaching lobe. |
