Science Tea
Science Tea is a very informal forum for discussion of science or
observatory issues. Each week there will be a discussion, usually
by an NRAO staff member, for one of the following:
- To eport a recent research result of general interest.
- To report on a scientific meeting someone recently attended.
- To discuss recent developments that affect the observatory's
future.
- To report on a recently developed piece of equipment or software.
- To review one, two or three interesting papers from the very recent
literature.
- If all else fails, to have a cookie and a general discussion.
The informal nature of Science Tea is considered very important;
PowerPoint® presentations are not encouraged. Guidelines are no
more than about three pictures, and the presenter should not stand
beside the PC.
Staff members are warned that they should be prepared to give a
Science Tea on short notice. ('Prepared' is not quite the right
word - do not prepare more than absolutely necessary.)
