The meeting was a success and will be repeated yearly. Next year's meeting will be in Green Bank, WV. NEW BUSINESS: Logistics: ---13 Jansky fellows (Aguirre,Baker,Chandra,Chatterjee**,Cheung,Fish, Haverkorn,Kanekar,Kovalev**,Macquart,Meier,Miller,Spekkens) + 4 NRAO postdocs (Morgan,Nikolic,Remijan,Whysong) will be invited. Expect approximately 10 people coming into Socorro from outside. Others to be determined (see below). This number should be small enough to house in the NRAO Guest House. **unlikely to be able to attend ? ---Lunches will be brought into the AOC on Thursday and Friday. ---A catered dinner will be provided Thursday evening. Tentatively scheduled to be at Dale Frail's house. ---Travel and arrival schedule will need to be arranged through "nmreserve" at the travel office. Website with details forthcoming. Questions contact Terry. Travel expenses will be paid by NRAO directly and not from the individual Jansky fellows' research/travel budget. *ACTION ITEM --Reserve a block of rooms in the guest house for these people for Wed April 26 - Fri April 28 *ACTION ITEM --Reserve the auditorium for 4/27 (except 12n fitness class) and 4/28 (except 11am colloquium). *ACTION ITEM --Get last year's informational web page from Rachel Osten, update and post Format: ---Jansky fellows and NRAO postdocs will give 30 min. talks. ---The scheduling will be kept moderate to permit ample time to talk, set up collaborations, etc.. Talks will be limited to 5 hrs on Thursday and 4 hrs + the AOC science colloquium on Friday. ---We will not specifically invite past Jansky fellows due to the tight schedule. The remainder of the spots will be filled by past Jansky fellows/postdocs/staff/students local to Socorro or current Jansky faculty advisors, if time allows. But a first pass at the schedule suggests we do not need talks besides from the postdocs. ---Friday afternoon will be left open for those who wish to go to the VLA site to tour the VLA and the ALMA prototype antennae, hopefully including a tour of an EVLA antenna. Afterward at trip to the "Eagle" restaurant in Datil is planned. ---We will invite Moreau Jansky-Parsons, Karl Jansky's daughter, to attend Thursday's festivities. The possibility of having her (or Miller Goss and her) give a short (~5 min.) historical introduction was discussed. ---A general announcement should be made to NMSCI so that local staff are aware, and attend, the talks. *ACTION ITEM --Invite Moreau Jansky to attend the Thursday lectures and dinner. *ACTION ITEM --Arrange a guided tour of the VLA, including climbing up the VLA antennae. Schedule: ---Carilli and Meier will get together (Friday 1/20 @ 3pm) to further discuss the exact schedule. Details forthcoming. *ACTION ITEM --Create the exact schedule. Dissemination of Talks: ---Discussed the possibility of publishing the talks in a "conference proceedings". Concluded that that would require too much work both on the speakers (writing up an article) and on the staff (publishing a proceedings). ---Instead it was decided that the slides from each presentation will be posted on the Jansky Fellowship website. Efforts will be made to get last year's slides as well, such that they may be posted. *ACTION ITEM --Canvas last year's speakers to see if they still have their talks from last year. The meeting adjourned at 9:45a. The minutes respectfully submitted, David Meier
