The GBT Proposal Submission Tool
Please read the
news before you
download the PST.
The GBT Proposal Submission Tool (PST) is a package for creating
and submitting GBT observing proposals.
The PST is a Java program that must be loaded onto a local computer
(it is not a web form). Best performance is achieved by installing the
PST on individual machines although some institutions may prefer a
site installation if they have adequate network resources.
Detailed information on the PST is available through the links
on the right. In particular, you can read a brief overview of the tool, download the tool or browse the
cookbook.
The help pages for the various PST tabs and features, accessible
via the three help page links to the right, are the same ones that
are available within the PST context-sensitive help.
The PST is a GBT-specific version of the Gemini Phase I
Tool, and both the GBT extension and these help pages are heavily
based on the Gemini version.
The Gemini Phase I Tool is the work of the Gemini High-Level
Programming Group: Kim Gillies and Jim Wright (and ex-members Shane
Walker and Darrell Denlinger), with some earlier work by Dayle
Kotturi. The Phase I Tool help pages were written by Colin Aspin, Phil
Puxley and Claudia Winge.
