A Living HI Rogues Gallery

Collection of maps of HI in Weird Galaxies and Weird HI in otherwise Normal Galaxies, collected as part of the conference Gas & Galaxy Evolution: A Celebration for the 20th anniversary of the VLA held in Socorro, New Mexico, May 21-25, 2000.
Published reference: An HI Rogues Gallery, Hibbard, J.E., van Gorkom, J.H., Rupen, M.P., & Schiminovich, D.S., 2001, in ASP Conf. Ser. 240, Gas & Galaxy Evolution, eds. J.E. Hibbard, M.P. Rupen, & J.H. van Gorkom, (ASP, San Francisco), 659

The Rogues Gallery is really best viewed in its entirety. You are welcome to download the 181 individual ps.gz files; however, for best viewing you should order Conference Series Vol. 240 from the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (editors as above). Go here for the order form.

If you would like to contribute to this list, I prefer that you submit FITS images of the HI and optical distribution. If you do not have supporting optical data, I will use the Digital Sky Survey image, so there is no need to include that. The HI and optical data do not need to be on the same pixel scale, but should have correct positional information in their header. If you only have a postscript version of your data, I will accept that. Make a tar file of the images and README file (see below), and ftp it to ftp.cv.nrao.edu/Incoming/jhibbard. Please include a README file that tells me the telescope and/or array used, observing band for optical data, reference (published or otherwise), and what catagory you think your system belongs in.
